
These forged pistons are designed by Edge, made by Ross to fit Buell & XL EVO engines. This is both a race and high-end street piston capable of 10.8:1 to 11.5:1 compression ratios depending on the thickness of the base & head gaskets used in assembly. Positive-quench piston dome will match basic stock heads and valve angles. Large valve relief cut into piston cuts for running larger valve sizes (up to 1.900 Intake, and 1.650 Exhaust), and high lift cams. Increased air/fuel flow is crated by the piston providing good flame propagation across the piston top for a clean burn with a single plug setup.
Improved skirt design with oil holes cut into the piston skirt improves oil control, enhancing the low friction coefficient on the torque side of the piston, which results in greater lubrication. This minimizes piston scuff from not warming up motors (also known as cold seize).

Lightweight matched pistons come with stronger, lighter wrist pins (than stock), wire clips, and Ross racing ring sets which include a specially treated first ring that is barrel lapped with a high density molybdenum faced that seats quickly and holds it seal. The second ring has a reverse torsional twist, taper face, cast iron design. Both the first and second rings are zinc-phosphate coated. The oil ring is a standard tension three-piece type with stainless expander, chromium plated rails, and low radial depth. Optional titanium wrist pins are also available to the serious race enthusiast for $100.00 as a replacement for standard pins. |
